Your Dental Surgery Is in Good Hands Here

We treat every patient as the unique individual they are. That means you’ll never feel rushed or “processed” – like just another set of teeth that need repairing. Our team will take the time to get to know you and understand your oral health. That way, we can provide the personalized care you deserve. We’ll plan your treatment using digital X-rays and an intraoral camera, so you receive the most comfortable and efficient care possible.

Below are two types of oral surgery we routinely perform here:

  • Tooth Extractions – If we’re unable to save your tooth with a filling, crown, or root canal, we’ll remove it to keep your mouth in optimal health.
  • Cosmetic Gum Surgery – If your gums are receding, we can perform a procedure to add gum tissue where you’ve lost it. Conversely, if you have excess gum tissue covering your teeth, we’ll use laser treatment to remove some of the tissue.

Call our office today at 480-660-4225 to schedule a consultation. Give your smile the care it deserves with Scottsdale oral surgery from Alex Martin, DDS. You can also make an appointment online.

Common Questions About Oral Surgery

When would I need oral surgery?

Tooth extraction is often needed if a tooth is too damaged to repair or if it is damaging your other teeth. In some cases, you need to have teeth removed to make room for dentures or another dental restoration. Whatever the reason for your extraction, Dr. Martin will remove your tooth as gently as possible.

When is oral surgery covered by insurance?

Your dental insurance or medical insurance may cover a portion of your oral surgery. We recommend you check with your individual carriers to find out what they will and won’t pay for before you have any work done. That way, there aren’t any big surprises in store for you. As a convenience, we offer third-party financing through CareCredit. Patients in our Membership Club receive a discount on services.

When can I exercise after oral surgery?

We recommend not exercising at all for the first 24 hours after oral surgery. Trying to do too much too soon can actually prolong healing. Vigorous exercise can loosen the blood clot on an extraction site and lead to a painful dry socket. For the next few days, a patient should limit activities to low-impact exercises as a precaution.
